A.E. Rayne is an author based in Auckland, New Zealand.
Originally from England, she has three children and a passion for cold climates, attributing this to her Swedish heritage.
Rayne's reading journey began with historical romance, particularly enjoying Jane Austen and the Brontë sisters.
She later developed a love for Viking-themed historical fiction.
Initially planning to write historical fiction, Rayne ultimately chose fantasy for greater creative freedom.
She started writing seriously after being inspired by James Patterson's disciplined approach, making it a daily practice.
Her husband's encouragement after reading her early work motivated her to continue writing.
