Francis Fukuyama
Francis Yoshihiro Fukuyama is an American political scientist and author born in 1952 to Japanese-American parents.
He studied at Cornell and Harvard, and is currently a professor at Johns Hopkins University.
Fukuyama gained prominence with his 1992 book "The End of History and the Last Man," which argued for the triumph of liberal democracy.
He has written extensively on political and economic topics, including trust, biotechnology, and social order.
While maintaining his support for liberal democracy, Fukuyama has modified some of his earlier views in response to technological and social changes, acknowledging ongoing challenges to the liberal order.
