Key Takeaways

1. Your Memories Define You and Drive Everything

Everything that happens to you runs through the source memories of your life and ancestry to determine your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, actions, and even the hormones and physiology of your body.

Memories are the source. The core premise is that our "source memories"—images stored in our heart from personal experience, imagination, and past generations—are the fundamental drivers of our entire existence. These memories dictate our thoughts, emotions, beliefs, behaviors, and even our body chemistry. They form the lens through which we perceive ourselves and the world, shaping our "you-ness" in every conceivable way.

Beyond conscious recall. These aren't just the facts we consciously remember, but also "process memories" (like riding a bike) and, crucially, unconscious impressions inherited from ancestors or formed in early childhood. These deeper memories, often beyond our conscious awareness, continuously influence us 24/7. For instance, the author's anxiety stemmed from his birth memories, not his circumstances, highlighting how deeply ingrained these influences can be.

The true root. If you struggle with persistent issues—be it anxiety, health problems, relationship conflicts, or career stagnation—and conventional solutions haven't worked, it's likely because you're treating symptoms, not the source. The book posits that our memories are the "leak in the kitchen" causing the flood in our lives, and until that source is addressed, we'll remain in a cycle of coping rather than true healing.

2. The Great Memory Malfunction: Wired for Fear, Not Love

We don’t see things as they are; we see them as we are.

Designed for love. Humans are inherently "wired for love," with internal mechanisms designed to create positive experiences and physiology. Our "heart" (encompassing the unconscious, subconscious, conscience, spirit, and right brain) is meant to operate in a state of calmness, peacefulness, and self-confidence, releasing feel-good hormones like oxytocin. This is our natural default state.

The malfunction. However, this default is overridden when we perceive danger, triggering a "life-or-death" (stress) response. This ancient survival mechanism, meant for genuine physical threats, now malfunctions, activating for everyday stressors like a medical bill or a lost football game. This constant state of stress floods the body with cortisol, leading to negative outcomes:

  • Dumbs us down, drains energy, suppresses the immune system
  • Increases pain, raises blood pressure, closes cells
  • Causes fear, anger, depression, confusion, shame, and identity issues

Devolution of meaning. Over millennia, the definition of "life or death" has devolved from a few critical threats to hundreds or thousands of situations. Our language reflects this ("This is killing me!"), and our heart takes these phrases literally, activating the stress response even when no real danger exists. This chronic stress is the root cause of virtually all illness and disease, as it shuts down our natural healing systems.

3. The Two Laws: Choose Love Over Survival

Happiness equals love. Full stop.

A critical choice. Sometime between ages six and twelve, we face a pivotal, often unconscious, choice between two governing principles: the Law of Externals and the Law of Internals. This decision profoundly shapes our life's trajectory, determining whether we live in constant insecurity or lasting contentment. Most people, influenced by upbringing and fear, unconsciously choose the Law of Externals.

Law of Externals. This fear-based system prioritizes external circumstances—physical survival, pleasure, and pain avoidance—above all else. It operates on self-interest, demanding "what I want when I want it," and often justifies means by ends. While essential for childhood survival, continuing under this law in adulthood leads to chronic stress, anxiety, and a perpetual feeling that something is missing, even amidst material success. The author's own "life vow" to avoid ridicule led to an unhealthy obsession with exercise, demonstrating this law's destructive power.

Law of Internals. In contrast, this love-based system prioritizes an internal state of love, joy, and peace, regardless of external circumstances. It's guided by our conscience, leading to win-win-win decisions that benefit others first, then the wider community, and finally ourselves. This path fosters empathy and genuine connection, transforming "have-tos" into "want-tos." Clients who shifted to this law experienced profound healing in relationships, health, and career, finding true satisfaction that external achievements alone could not provide.

4. You're Living a Lie: Memories Are Illusions, Not Facts

The truth is, according to what we covered in part 1, you’re living the lie right now.

Memories are not recordings. Contrary to popular belief, our memories are not accurate video recordings of events. Instead, they are like "Photoshop files"—electrical and chemical impulses filtered through trillions of existing memories, then assembled into an internal picture. This process means our memories are frequently inaccurate, often anywhere from 1% to 99% different from what actually happened.

Fear distorts reality. The more fear and adrenaline experienced during an event, the more vivid and powerful the memory becomes, but also the more susceptible to errors. This "negativity bias" means bad experiences loom larger and are more easily recalled, leading us to overestimate their likelihood. Trauma memories, in particular, tend to worsen over time, causing individuals to remember more trauma than they actually experienced, further distorting their perception of reality.

Inherited and imagined lies. Our memories are also shaped by inherited trauma from past generations (genetic and learned) and even our own imagination. Imagining an event can create a false memory as powerful as a real one, as seen in studies like the "spilling the punchbowl" experiment. These inherited and imagined "lies" accumulate in our "stress barrels," consuming vital energy and creating a distorted worldview where minor events (like a "Popsicle memory") are interpreted as life-altering traumas.

5. The "Chemical Tidal Wave" and Illusion of Free Will

I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep doing.

The chemical trap. When we do something pleasurable that we believe is wrong, our brain releases a "chemical tidal wave"—a potent cocktail of both love (oxytocin, serotonin, endorphins) and fear (dopamine, norepinephrine, cortisol) chemicals. This overwhelming cascade is akin to a drug overdose, leading to addiction and a loss of control over our actions. This phenomenon is particularly strong when operating under the Law of Externals, where short-term pleasure is prioritized over long-term well-being.

Illusion of control. This chemical reaction makes it incredibly difficult to consistently do what we know is best for us. Our unconscious survival mind, far more powerful than our conscious will, takes over, effectively putting us in a mild state of shock. It prioritizes immediate pleasure and pain avoidance, overriding our conscious intentions and rationalizing our choices. This is the "tyranny of the urgent" that prevents us from pursuing long-term goals.

No free will? Decades of research suggest that our actions are often the result of subconscious and unconscious brain activity, not conscious free will. While this sounds disempowering, the book argues that this "illusion of intention" is only problematic if we believe we have no way to change our unconscious programming. The solution isn't to accept a compromised life or rely on temporary placebos, but to address the root cause of this unconscious control: our malfunctioning memories.

6. Memory Engineering: Your Internal Control Panel

Your image maker is not a gimmick, and it’s not pretend—it’s the control panel of your life.

The right tool. Since memories are made of energy patterns, they require an energy-based solution to change them. Memory engineering is a specific energy medicine technique designed to create, heal, edit, and revise these energetic images. It's the "right tool for the job," bypassing the limitations of traditional psychology's focus on talk therapy or medication, which often only address symptoms.

Beyond the brain. The power of memory engineering stems from the understanding that memories are not solely stored in the brain. Accounts from organ transplant recipients experiencing donor memories and near-death experiences "resetting" fear memories suggest that memories reside at a deeper, cellular, and even spiritual level. This implies a profound capacity for internal change that goes beyond physical or neurological interventions.

Your image maker. We are all equipped with the internal technology to change our memories: our imagination, or "image maker." This "control panel" is directly connected to our right brain, brainstem, hippocampus, amygdala, and reticular formation, generating images, wisdom, and problem-solving abilities. Memory engineering teaches us to consciously use this powerful tool to monitor and control the images that drive our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, transforming our lives at the source.

7. The 6-Step Memory Engineering Technique

You don’t have to know or change every single negative memory. You only need to create enough positive energy in the mind to neutralize the negative energy and end up with a neutral or positive ratio overall, or related to that particular issue.

Cooperation with the heart. The Memory Engineering Technique works by creating new, powerful positive memories to neutralize existing negative ones, shifting our overall "heart ratio" from negative to positive. Crucially, this process involves honest communication with our heart, acknowledging that the new positive images are for "programming purposes only" and not presented as factual lies. This builds trust with the unconscious mind, preventing it from spiking stress.

The six steps: The technique involves creating four "programming memories" (not factually true, for energy shift) and two "default memories" (true, to become the new default).

  • Programming Memories (Past, Present, Future):
    1. Past General: Imagine the negative event never happened, replaced by a positive one.
    2. Past Miraculous: Envision a miraculous, unbelievable positive event related to the issue.
    3. Present Miraculous: Imagine your present life if that miraculous past event had occurred.
    4. Future Miraculous: Picture your future if those miraculous past and present memories were real.
  • Default Memories (Truthful):
    5. New Default: Acknowledge the actual event, but change its negative "therefore" (lie) to a positive, truthful "therefore."
    6. Ultimate Default: Release control and ask your heart/Higher Power to create the perfect, most powerful default memory for the issue.

Practice and patience. Each step requires immersing yourself in the imagined memory until you feel a positive shift. The technique can be repeated daily for any issue until it no longer bothers you. While some experience instant change, for others, it's a gradual process of neutralizing layers of negative programming, often healing thousands of related memories simultaneously.

8. Energy Medicine Boosters: Unlock Deeper Healing

If you’re intellectually intelligent or lean toward being controlling, adding this kind of energy tool could be the boost that works for you.

Accelerating healing. For those who find it challenging to access their source memories or want to accelerate the healing process, additional energy medicine tools can be integrated. The Healing Codes II, a complementary system, physically stimulates key healing areas in the body to enhance the effects of memory engineering. These codes are about 50% more powerful and simpler than the original Healing Codes.

Three healing areas: The Healing Codes II target specific points to stimulate different aspects of our being:

  • Brainstem: Stimulates the subconscious and unconscious mind, addressing deep-seated memories.
  • Prefrontal Cortex: Stimulates the conscious mind, enhancing clarity and intentionality.
  • Belly Button: Stimulates the gastrointestinal system, where a significant portion of the immune system resides, promoting physical healing.

Integrating the booster. To turbo-boost the Memory Engineering Technique, simply add alternating hand positions (left hand on brainstem, right on prefrontal cortex for 30 seconds, then reverse) while creating each of the six memories. This "mind-body-spirit" approach involves the body (booster positions), conscious mind (memory creation), and spirit (addressing core issues like forgiveness and self-worth), providing the best chance for comprehensive, long-term healing.

9. Grace: The Ultimate Path to Miracles

Love opens the door to the miraculous. It leads to a life of grace.

Beyond survival. We are born with an innate drive to survive, but also an "encrypted file" within us, a calling to be extraordinary. This file opens when we reach an age of moral discernment, presenting a choice: continue a life rooted in fear and survival, or embrace a life of love and grace. Choosing love, with full commitment and no reservations, unlocks this extraordinary potential.

The system of grace. Grace is a higher system, distinct from the "law" of cause and effect (karma, attraction). While law dictates that "what you get depends on what you do," grace operates supernaturally, producing miraculous results that defy conventional rules. It's not about forgiveness after an offense, but about preventing the offense in the first place, or responding with unconditional love that transforms the situation.

Transforming "have-tos" into "want-tos." The story of Paul, who wrecked his father's uninsured dream car, illustrates grace. Instead of punishment or blame, his father responded with unconditional love, prioritizing Paul's well-being over material loss. This act of grace created a powerful, positive memory for Paul, instantly changing his "have-tos" (like washing a car) into "want-tos," and shaping his character for life. This profound shift from fear-based obligation to love-driven action is the essence of living a life programmed for miracles.
