Paul Pierson
Paul Pierson is a Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley, where he holds the Avice Saint Chair in Public Policy.
Previously, he taught at Harvard University from 1988 to 2004.
His first book, Dismantling the Welfare State? (1994), won the American Political Science Association's Kammerer Prize.
Pierson has received prestigious fellowships, including a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Russell Sage Foundation Fellowship.
As an Affiliated Scholar at the Center for American Progress, his research focuses on comparative public policy, political economy, and the welfare state.
He is currently working on two books about long-term changes in the American political system.
