Richard Castle is a fictional character from the ABC television show Castle, portrayed by actor Nathan Fillion.
Within the show's universe, Castle is a bestselling mystery author who shadows NYPD detective Kate Beckett, using her as inspiration for his fictional detective Nikki Heat.
His biography credits him with numerous bestsellers, including the Derrick Storm series, and a college debut novel that won a prestigious mystery award.
