Ki Longfellow, born on Staten Island to a French-Irish mother and Iroquois father, spent her childhood in Hawaii and California before living in France and England.
She is widow to British artist Vivian Stanshall.
In England, she created the Thekla showboat, now a Bristol landmark.
Her novels include China Blues and Chasing Women before turning to spiritual themes after Vivian's death in 1995.
Her Divine Feminine trilogy includes The Secret Magdalene and Flow Down Like Silver about Hypatia of Alexandria.
She also writes mystery and horror fiction.
In 2018, she published a biography of Vivian Stanshall and had three books optioned for film adaptation.
