John Straley
Novelist John Straley has held diverse occupations including horseshoer, wilderness guide, private investigator, and machinist before establishing his writing career.
He moved to Sitka, Alaska in 1977 and remains there.
His award-winning career began with THE WOMAN WHO MARRIED A BEAR in 1995, launching the popular Cecil Younger series, followed by the Cold Storage mystery series.
Straley's wife, Jan, is a marine biologist renowned for her humpback whale research, serving as inspiration for Big Breath In's protagonist Delphine, who combines marine biology expertise with investigative work.
