Jean Kwok is an acclaimed author known for her bestselling novels that explore the immigrant experience and cultural identity.
Born in Hong Kong, she immigrated to Brooklyn at age five and worked in a Chinatown clothing factory during her childhood.
Kwok graduated from Harvard University and earned an MFA from Columbia University.
