Janet Beard
Janet Beard was born and raised in East Tennessee, bringing an authentic regional perspective to her writing.
She pursued her education in New York, studying screenwriting at NYU before earning an MFA in creative writing from The New School.
Her debut novel, Beneath the Pines, was published in 2008, followed by her internationally bestselling The Atomic City Girls in 2018.
Her most recent novel, The Ballad of Laurel Springs, was released in October 2021.
Having lived across multiple countries and cities, including Australia, England, Boston, and Columbus, Ohio, Beard currently resides in Ohio, raising a daughter while working on a new novel.
