Chen Qiufan, born in 1981 in Shantou, China, is a graduate of Peking University.
He began his writing career in 1997, publishing his first short story in Science Fiction World.
Since 2004, he has published over 30 stories in various magazines.
Chen's first novel, The Abyss of Vision, was released in 2006.
He has won awards for his writing, including the Dragon Fantasy Award in 2006.
His work has been translated into English and Italian.
Chen currently resides in Beijing and works for Google China.
He sometimes uses the English name Stanley Chan and is known for his contributions to Chinese science fiction literature.
