Bernard Crick
Sir Bernard Rowland Crick was a prominent British political theorist and democratic socialist, best known for his belief that "politics is ethics done in public." He dedicated much of his intellectual career to bridging the gap between political thought and practical action, advocating for a "politics of action" rather than rigid ideology.
A Professor of Politics at Birkbeck College, University of London, Crick brought his deep understanding of political theory to his landmark biography of George Orwell, for which he was granted unprecedented access to Orwell's personal papers, producing what many consider the authoritative account of Orwell's life.
